nickydude
I purchased this 8GB Corsair Survivor last week from newegg and noticed it was working very low on writing I read some posts here and decided to test it with hdbench. I followed the instructions and formatted the drive FAT32. I first tried it with 2000MB but the program kept freezing up, so i performed the test with a 100MB and here are the results. I can't even go to 5mb/s. It took me 10min to transfer 600MB. I have previously owned a voyager and it has never given me such problems - its writing speed was above 10mb/s. I even have a generic 4gb drive that works a lot better than this Survivor onee. Thank you
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 15, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 15, 2009 Please try and format the drive with the Format utility from the SD-CARD Organization. Then run the test again and see if that helps. If you still have problems we can get it or them replaced, please use the RMA request found in TSXpress or follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! nickydude
Hi again Maybe my first post was a little confusing. The only drive I have is 8GB Corsair Survivor. I did the format with the program you mentioned in your post - SD-CARD Organization Then I performed the HDbench test again and here are the results. I don't think they differ that much from the previous ones. I also tried copying a large file again, but there is no improvement in the writing speed. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 16, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 16, 2009 I am sorry but that is a little slow but if we replace it I am not sure you will see much improvement, But I would suggest we get it replaced. It should write a little faster than that.
