mcaleck
Today I bought a Flash Voyager 8GB stick in the hopes of using it to move large files (i.e. over 4 GB) and I was sadly disappointed when it turned out that its write speed is not 16MB, not 13MB (as it's stated by many retailers), not even above 10MB, or 8MB as it is unofficially alleged by the Corsair Guru of this forum, but a mere 5MB AT BEST!!! This is very annoying not only because I feel I've been ripped off but also because cheap regular brands now do 6MB/s. I mean c'mon!!! What's the point of having a 8, 16, or God forbid 32GB of this when it takes about 20 minutes!!! to move 4GB? Not to mention, when I start copying it thinks about 10 seconds or even more before it begins actual copying. This is so exasperating! And yes, I've already tried the SD-Card formatting software that is recommended here but it didn't help. And sorry, but I don't want a replacement and go through this ordeal again to have a 8GB key with 8MB write speed!. Honestly, this is ridiculous!!! Wired
Corsair can't refund you as they didn't sell it to you. If that's what you want then I'd advise you to talk to your reseller. Otherwise, the only thing Corsair can do (aside from troubleshooting) would be to RMA it. Have you run HDBench @ 100 MB on it?

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 14, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 14, 2009 The Speeds do seem slow. The best thing we can do is offer replacement. Sorry about that. Let's get it replaced, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it. Be sure to check the box that says “I've already spoken to Technical Support and/or RAM Guy.”

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 16, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 16, 2009 Do you have the Case number and I can push it through?
mcaleck
OK, I got the info with the address I should send the faulty USB to. But I don't get it. Am I supposed to send it all the way to the Netherlands, take out an insurance on the delivery and pay for all of this? That's like half the price of what I paid for the stick!!! Is this for real? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 17, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 17, 2009 The insurance is optional and that may be the closest hub to you, the other option would be to try the reseller and see if they will help you.
