First post, so be gentle with me..... :p:

Self build system 14mth ago with 2x1gb dominator pc8500 2.20v... no probs at all

last week i bought another 2x1gb pair dominators to compliment my others... to make 4x1gb memm

i assumed they would be the same... the 'new' ones are 2.10v ?? & now i get regular BSOD.. browser crashes...

reinstalled windows xp pro.. new HHD... I have reverted to my 'old' original 2x1gb 2.20v & taken out the 'new' 2.10v memm..

How do i make the 4x1gb work together ??? do i drop all volts to 2.10v.. or up to 2.20v to make compatable.. stable ??

hope everything is clear & a solution is possible..... Thank you in advance

(hope this is in the right section)....... ;):

I would never suggest mixing memory but you are welcome to try it, however with 4 modules on that MB I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667or DDR800 and set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts and set the NB/MCH/SPP Voltage to +.2 Volts as well and test the system with http://www.memtest.org. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.

mixing different versions is not a good idea and not supported but you may still get it working following the above quote.

also posting in green is an eyesore FYI
