Muhad
I guess one of my three sticks is dying because for the last four days I have been getting constant bsod and memory errors reported by Windows. My system won't even stay booted up for more that a couple of minutes. I had to put in some older memory I had and then I don't have any problems at all with the other memory. My memory was purchased from Newegg and is type TR3X6G1866C7GT. Where are you, RamGuy? Thanks.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 9, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 9, 2009 What type of motherboard and CPU are you currently using with these memory sticks. Have you tried running each stick one at a time to see if each stick will run on its own without any issues? Let us know the results!

The computer will not boot with only one memory module, it must have all three in.

Muhad
It's almost embaressing to say this, but my replaced CMG6GX3M3A1866C7 memory is having those errors again. (bsod and memory errors reported by Windows) Absolutely nothing has changed on my computer for quite some time. I only run the memory at 1.64v @1870 and timings of 9.9.9.20 reported by CPU-Z v1.51 and my i7 965 is running @ 3.60 with 1.4v and QPI at 1.35v. I am using the Asus Rampage II Extreme with bios v1104. My system runs very cool and the memory has the twin fan unit on it too. Any suggestions? I have another brand that does not have these memory crashes. This CMG6GX3M3A1866C7 memory is terrible!!!!!! When this memory is used and I run 3DMark06 I loose about 8,000 points. adamwhite
when i first got my rampage II and my dominator gt kit (TR3X6G2000C8GTF) i had lots of BSODs but it all went away when i flashed to Bios 1406 i recommend you flash to Bios 1406 even more than the later one 1504 also try lowering your mhz of your ram just for a start and increase it gradually, i think its enough to go with QPI 1.55 to 1.60 for your ram, i never passed 1.6 Qpi on mine try disabling those in your cpu setting after you flash your bios: cpu HT speedstep also set your ( DRAM Back to back Cas Delay ) in you DRAM timing from 8 - 10 which give you higher stability for your ram i am sure you have better points in 3Dmark06 now after flashing bios hope that helps you out
Muhad
I was using 1104 so I installed 1406 and any OC settings I made in the bios had no affect withing Windows (lol), so then I installed 1504, and I can make some OC settings in the bios but Windows runs slow even though the OC setting show in CPUZ. As far as dram freq goes it was round 1853. I have been trying to use 1.4v for cpu, 1.4v for qpi and 1.64v for memory. I can't get exactly 1.65v on the memory for some strange reason. I am now getting ready to run memtest.
Muhad
Please load setup defaults and then just enable XMP Profile one and test the system with http://www.memtest.org Ok I tested all sticks together and each one separately and one stick is BAD/DEAD. I tested each one in the first slot and the one will not do anything at all. Buggers! See pics
