ZBoater
With a SSD, does it even make sense to have a ReadyBoost drive? My HP 2133 Mini netbook has a flash card reader and I had a 4GB SanDisk Extreme in there using it as a ReadyBoost drive. If I replace the Hitachi HD with a Corsair P128, I am thinking ReadyBoost becomes obsolete. Comments?
ZBoater
He he. I love it when I get to answer my own question. The answer is "no ZBoater, you do not need to use ReadyBoost if you have a SSD as your system drive. As a matter of fact, it will hinder your performance significantly..." Attached is a screenshot of CrystalDiskMark on my Vista HP2133 netbook with ReadyBoost and without. Notice the difference in write speed is like three and four fold ...
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 26, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 26, 2009 LOL! You asked the question after we closed yesterday and then found the answer before we opened today, but good work keep it up and I would be out of a job if everyone could do that. ZBoater
I appreciate all the work you guys do. I've gotten lazy and tend to ask the question first before I spend too much time banging my head against the wall. So perhaps "smarter" is a better description. :D:
