robertclemens
I have a 1024MB Corsair CMX1024-3200C2PT module. It was failing on an Abit NF7-S v2 motherboard using memtest. I swapped it into each different ram slot and also tried another motherboard of the same model with the same results. I relaxed the memory timings and it still resulted in the same errors. I then let my friend test the module in his computer that has RAM that is known to work and slots that are known to work on a different model board A7N8X Deluxe. His RAM passed memtest while my CMX1024 module failed as suspected. I'd like to pursue a RMA for this module part and will continue on to the RMA form upon response from tech support. Thank you! -- Robert Clemens
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 19, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 19, 2009 That part is only available as a set so you would need its mate and get the set replaced. Let's get them replaced, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace them.
robertclemens
Edit: Scratched the previous post in place here. I *only* buy computer parts through NewEgg.com. I have every invoice listed with them still and found the item. This is *definitely* a single dimm unit and not a TWINX pack. The invoice clearly shows 1x1GB CMX1024-3200C2PT. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145560 Copy/Paste from invoice: 3/5/2006 Inv# 16321025 Order# 40645687 $119.00 1 x CORSAIR XMS 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Desktop Memory Model CMX1024-3200C2PT - Retail This part was not available as a set. The identical module is repackaged within the TWINX set but without CMX model labeling. The datasheets on corsair's website seems to suggest only TWINX packaged versions but my invoice, the shipment of only one module, and newegg's site seems to suggest otherwise. -- Robert Clemens

robertclemens
Before reading. Notice how I submitted CMX1024-3200C2PT. And they *always* have to change the damn model to a TWINX20480-3200C2PT. THE MODULE ITSELF HAS THE CMX MODEL # LISTED *ON IT*!! Hello Robert, We have received your RMA (RMA#1112104) and unfortunately we’re not able to process your request because according to our records we only received 1 stick from you out of a set of TWINX2048-3200C2PT. We actually don’t have these parts in singles and we only carry these parts by sets/pairs. We need you to send us the remaining stick for us to complete your request. Pls. send us the remaining stick under the same RMA Number. To expedite the process you could provide us with a tracking number once you ship the remaining stick and we’ll ship the replacement the very same day. Let us know if you have any questions. Thank you for choosing Corsair and have a great day! Regards, Jelaide Ocbina RMA Representative Irritating to say the least. Documenting this on the forum. I have provided ample proof that this unit was sold as a single unit and not just in a twinx pack. I really feel like corsair employees need to brush up on what corsair sells or has sold. This looks like a single dimm unit to me! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145560 This is my invoice. Are they serious? robertclemens
I do feel somewhat better. Dear Robert, Thank you for your confirmation, your replacement will be shipped to you shortly. Once it shipped you will receive an email with tracking information. You may also contact us for the tracking number. Let me know if you have any questions Thank you for choosing Corsair! Regards, Jelaide Ocbina RMA Representative I just really wish you don't have to explain someone's *own* products and services to them. I didn't create the DIMM packaging and model lines. robertclemens
Got my RMA return today. Corsair sent me 2x1GB matched pair TWINX2048-3200C2PT. Gotta love a company that *wants* to keep its customers happy. This is why I only buy Corsair if at all possible! In fact just placed an order for some Corsair ECC Registered memory to add to a server. My appreciation to all the fine folks that make things right. And is RAM_GUY one person or a collective account for many people to use? Hah!
