theadder
Hello, I posted some time ago about some problems that I was having with my PC, at the time, and requested an RMA, which I received: http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=72410 The machine worked for a time, however, I am now experiencing problems again. Currently, the machine does not load into windows at all, and neither do I see the BIOS screen. The machine starts, with all of the fans running, and then nothing happens. The fan on the video card runs, which leads me to conclude that it is still (hopefully) functioning. If you need more information, then do let me know. Thank you,
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 18, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 18, 2009 If the system is powering on then it would likely be some other problem as to why it is not posting, I would try the memory modules one at a time to be sure one is not failing. theadder
I tried this, with each module (there are two) separately in slot 1 closest to the CPU. No change.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 18, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 18, 2009 Can you test the PSU with another system? And what leads you to think it is the PSU?
theadder
I don't have another compatible system that I can test it with at the moment. I'm narrowing in on the PSU through a process of elimination. I have changed around the RAM as you suggested, and it seems very unlikely that both sticks are broken. It seems extremely unlikely that it is a processor problem. I have been able to remove the GPU as the motherboard has on-board video, which also does not work. There is little left but the PSU and MB and I currently have no way in which to determine which is the problem.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 19, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 19, 2009 Do you have a friend that can help you test the PSU and other items from your system that may help isolate the problem?
theadder
No one whose PC I can take apart who would have something compatible, unfortunately, no.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 22, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 22, 2009 The system powers on but will not post is that correct? If so I would suspect the MB or CPU based on what you have posted so far.
