pontus_p
Ok, this is not the first time im trying to upgrade. I tried 4x1GB modules before, but Windows just stayed on the loading screen, with the loading bar stuttering. I got the advice here to get 2x2GB modules instead since it would be easier for the MB to handle electricity-wise. So I got a TWIN2X4096-6400C4DHX (says CM2X2048-6400C4DHX, XMS2-6400, 2048MB, 800MHz, 4-4-4-12, 2.10V ver3.2 on the sticks). But god damn it, it's exactly the same behavior! Windows staying on the loading screen. And the HD pausing for some seconds, and then reading again. I've tried BIOS settings on auto, and manually mem-volt 2.10-2.20V, raising NB voltage from 1.25 to 1.3, and 4-4-4-12 and 5-5-5-18, 2T. What to do? Edit: Those sticks are supported by my MB according to http://compatible.corsairmemory.com.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 16, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 16, 2009 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and load setup defaults and then set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org to be sure one is not failing. If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure.
