dudu
Hello, I recently purchased PC2-8500 Dominators (4gb). I have installed them in my MSI p43 neo 3 mainboard. I set the voltage to 2.2v and the timings to 5-5-5-15 but they are completely unstable. I can boot into windows and use my computer but anything like games will cause my system to crash within a minute or two. Any assistance you can give is greatly appreciated. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 16, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 16, 2009 Max Voltage is 2.1 Volts for that module: Please make sure that you have the latest bios and load setup defaults and then set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and test the modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org to be sure one is not failing. If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test. .
dudu
Well I upped the voltage to 2.2 before getting your message and changed the timings to 5-5-5-18 and it actually seems stable now. I just played Crysis for 20 minutes without problems which I was never able to do before.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 16, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 16, 2009 I would not go over 2.1 Volts but if its stable then you should be fine!
dudu
Yea I think the problem was being caused by my motherboard's north bridge and bios. As long as this stays stable Im happy :D:
