frenchquarter
Hi, is there any advantage in using P128 over S128 on SATA-150 (SATA I) interface? P128 must be way faster than S128 on SATA II, but, on SATA I, I think P128 is slightly faster based on a test result of a few recent SSDs on SATA I and II. I need some expert opinions. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 15, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 15, 2009 On S-ATA1 more than likely it will be a bit slower because of the interface, but the P128 will still show a bit better performance even on S-ATA 1 controllers. frenchquarter
Thank you for your quick reply. I'm sure P128 is still faster than S128 on SATA I, but if there is only slight difference of speed, isn't S128 a more reasonable choice for SATA I? Can I ask you for any test result of P128 on SATA I if there is one?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 15, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 15, 2009 I am sorry I don't have any results like that but I will look for them, best thing would be to check some of the reviews out.
Legend
Below is our Lab test results on SATA I. Testing was done on a netbook with Intel ICH7-M Storage controller. S128= 70MB/s write 90MB/s read P128= 125MB/s write 125MB/s read
frenchquarter
Thank you for the lap test result. On SATA II, P128's maximum speed would be higher than 220MB/s.
