dynno
Hi, I have TX650W PSU,it's a nice looking/performing PSU. As I already said it runs fine, but my concern are high temps reported by speedfan which are 82C. I had some previous problems with faulty readings of speedfan,so I tested with PC wizard 2008 and it reports same temp,82C (see pic). This is too hot I think,my previous PSU never exceeded 50C. PSU is placed on the bottom of the case and PSU&GPU fans are blowing at each other I don't know if this causing the issue,or TX650W PSU's run this hot in general? Help would be appreciated :sigh!:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 9, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 9, 2009 There are no external temperature sensors on our PSUs, so I really don't know what that software is measuring. If you are not having any problems then I would suspect that the reading is incorrect. If the PSU were really that hot the fan should be spinning full blast. MattII
That Temperature is not PSU I also have the TX650, and PC Wizard 2008, my Power/ AUX temp is 37C AUX is not your power supply temp, it's another sensor on your mb, it might be around you GFX card or you could have a faulty sensor but don't worry it's not you PSU running at 80C+
hymera003
Hello, My system works fine, but today I started to fold with folding@home, both the CPU and the GPU application turned on, and after 45 minutes the power supply temperature was 102C:bigeyes: with the side panel opened. I have an RPC UPS and its software showed me that the computer was using ~420W. The temperature was shown in Everest, at the sensor section, under PWM. I used to have a Fortron power supply with 400W, and its temperature was shown in the same place. I took a 80mm fan and made it blow air towards the TX650W fan and the PWM temperature went down. Furthermore, when I placed my hand on the TX650W it was quite hot. So my question is this: is my TX650W ok with this kind of temperatures, or do I need to take it back to warranty? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted July 21, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted July 21, 2009 It is not the PSU... PWM is on the motherboard, usually around the CPU socket.
hymera003
So the PSU doesn't have sensors which communicates the temperature to the motherboard, but it measures the temperature internally and if it becomes hot, the PSU fan starts to spin up? FEAR6655
Correct. No PSU has the capability to send temperature data AFAIK, only fan speed on certain models.
on3vhf
hi all i am buy a new PSU 2 or 3 days ago, TX 650 W i am working 2 ATI 4830 , and the fan is not turning verry hight and the case is complete verry hot ??? is normal ???, for info pc is into Home at 25 degré C many tks for your response laurent on3vhf from Belgium edit: is ok now the température is normal
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 10, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 10, 2009 The fan in the PSU is thermally controlled. If you would need to really tax the PSU hard to speed up the fan. I would suggest you to install additional cooling fans in your case to provide better cooling.
