Intel's spec state that memory voltage > 1.6 may harm CPU

I am building a new system and ordered an core i7 920, intel dx58so mb and TR3X6G1600C8D. both the vendor (Newegg) and Corsairs compatibly page states the memory is supported.

I download and read Intel's dx58so manual (while waiting for the components to arrive and that manual states that using memory with a voltage greater than 1.6 may cause damage to the CPU.

Does the SPD auto settings on the TR3X6G1600C8D lower the voltage from 1,65v? Or is Intel's documentation incorrect and 1.65v will not cause damage?

I just want to be safe - the pc build is too expensive to risk losing a $300 CPU for a small gain in performance.

Thanks in Advance.

Below from Intel's Website

Memory Features

The Desktop Board supports the following memory features:

* Four 240-pin Double Data Rate 3 (DDR3) SDRAM Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) connectors with gold-plated contacts arranged in three channels

* 1600/1333/1066/800 MHz DDR3 SDRAM interface (XMP version 1.2 performance profile support for memory speeds above 1333 MHz)

* Support for single-, dual-, and triple-channel memory interleaving

* Unbuffered, nonregistered single or double-sided DIMMs with a voltage rating of less than 1.6 V.

* Non-ECC DDR3 memory

* Serial Presence Detect (SPD) memory only

* Up to 16 GB maximum total system memory

To be fully compliant with all applicable Intel® SDRAM memory specifications, the board should be populated with DIMMs that support the Serial Presence Detect (SPD) data structure. If your memory modules do not support SPD, you will see a notification to this effect on the screen at power up. The BIOS will attempt to configure the memory controller for normal operation.

Using a DIMM with a voltage rating higher than 1.6 V may damage the processor.

If you want memory that meets Intel's Spec then you would need to look for DDR1066 DDR3 Tri sets which I am sorry we do not offer. The slowest we offer would be TR3X6G1333C9 and what I would suggest for that MB and CPU.
