buddy3
Hi Just a quick question. My main board which is an asus p4c800e-deluxe says it can use pc3200 memory. Now on your site for my motherboard it says that twinx512-4000 will work in it. How is this? Thanks Paul
CandyKid
The motherboard is designed for a new 800FSB Intel Pentium 4 CPU. This runs 1:1 with PC3200 memory. However, if you overclocked it to a 1000FSB (250MHz), then it'd run 1:1 with PC4000 memory. So, basically, PC4000 is for overclocking, but can be underclocked to run slower than PC4000 if you, your CPU, or mainboard can't handle the speed. buddy3
Now it says that recomended configuration is 1X. This mean I can only run the one sim of 512 or 1024? Or can I run 2 to get the dual channel?
CandyKid
Actually, the TwinX1024 are DIMMs, and the TwinX512 are SIMMs! And they mean you can use one TwinX matched pair; two modules for dual-channel. PLUR CK
