Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 2, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 2, 2009 If you were to use memory that is rated faster than what the system will support, then the motherboard will do one of two things. It will either downclock the memory to the fastest speed that it supports, or the system will not post at all because it will not recognize the information programmed into the SPD.
