Jay Bomb
I'm currently working on a pc build. It is my first build from scratch so this issue might just be open my behalf. I'll start with my specs: PSU: Corsair 750TX Mobo: Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 CPU: Intel i7 920 GPU: Evga 9800GTX HDD: 1 TB Western Digital 320 GB Western Digital CD: 2 LG Sata DVD drives Case: Thermaltake Kandalf VA9000 I had everything connected last night to the power supply, but when I pressed the power button for the first set up nothing happened. No motherboard light, sound, or flicker. I figured something must be totally incorrect. Am I doing something wrong or should I just try the paper clip test later on? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 27, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 27, 2009 Make sure the button on the back of the PSU is pressed down on the "1" side, and also make sure that the power button on the case is properly hooked up to the motherboard. You may also want to try bypassing the power button by bridging the two PWR pins on the motherboard with a paper clip or screwdriver, and see if it powers on. If all else fails then try the paperclip test and see if the PSU is able to power up when it is not connected to the system.
Jay Bomb
I know the switch was on the "I" position. I could remember seeing a common electric jolt inside when switching it back to the off position. I was also thinking that maybe I had the power switch in incorrectly. I wasn't sure which was positive and negative. Power switch is red and black however the others such has HDD, reset light were...(ex. orange and white, blue and white). Jay Bomb
Paper clip fix worked with 7 fans and a CD drive, my motherboard connects must have been screwed up.

Sounds like you may be right, but if possible you may want to test the PSU in another system just to be 100% sure.
