Nismo122
As above i have 2 matching pairs of the below memory CM2X1024-8500C5D 4GB total in 2x 1024 pairs, My problem is lately i have been having alot of issues with a unstable sytem and BSODS. This morning tried to power up the PC and it would not boot, so i have today been testing with memtest and 2 of the modules are throwing up errors and i can only boot with 3 modules. As soon as i add the same 4th module it will not boot whatsoever  i have tried all the usual of trying each stick in the different MB slots with no joy and they have been tested with the recommended settings. Any ideas?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 27, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 27, 2009 With 4 modules I would suggest setting the memory frequency at DDR667 and set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts and set the NB/MCH/SPP Voltage to +.2 Volts as well and test the system with http://www.memtest.org. In addition, with some MB's (Mostly ASUS) you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.

Thanks for the reply and i had aleady disabled the legacy USB option and why would you run the RAM at 667 when it's designed to run at 1066MHz? Anyway i have tried doing as you suggested and one pair has passed without errors. But the 2nd pair 1 siick produces errors within 5 minutes and when the other stick is installed the system will not boot at any settings. So one of the sticks is dead as a dodo and the other is throwing up errors by itself and when paired with the working pair.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 27, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 27, 2009 Let's get them replaced, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace them. With 4 modules the memory frequency will need to be set lower and depending on the chipset and MB DDR667 or DDR800 would be required.

While it is possible to get 2 separate kits working together, it will most likely require adjustments to be made in your BIOS to get the modules up and running. If possible, we suggest lowering your memory frequency and slightly increasing northbridge voltage. Please consult your motherboard manual for information on how to make these adjustments. If you’re not comfortable making these adjustments, or if the BIOS doesn’t allow for these adjustments to be made, you might want to consider our 4GB memory kits. The thing is as stated one of the modules is refusing point blank to boot even with the settings suggested by RAM GUY and i have run memtest with the modules in pairs and in single modules. One pair are pefectly stable and have passed memtest with no errors, but as said i am having issues with the other set to the point the system will not even post. Synthohol
understood. i was just answering your question as to why the speed has to be lowered to 800 or 667. good luck, my RMA only took like 9 or 10 days and the replacements are still going strong! Nismo122
Ok, RMA received a few days back  what settings should i be running 4 modules at again? i know you said DDR2 776/800 but what about timings? also, what happens when it comes to overclocking the CPU is that not gonna give me an unstable sytem again? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted June 19, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted June 19, 2009 I would start with DDR667 and leave the timings at Auto and set the memory Voltage to 2.1 Volts. And use http://www.memtest.org to test the system and if you get errors set the NB/MCH/SPP Voltage to +.2 Volts If its stable at DDR667 then try them at DDR800.
