Keaton
Hi, I have a HX520 unit. Also I have a power efficient Sapphire HD4850 Vapor-X graphics card. I am thinking of a crossfıre built possibility. Can a HX520 handle that setup? Thanks forward and have a nice day all.
Yellowbeard
Try our PSU Finder and see what range of PSUs it is recommending for your system. http://www.corsair.com/psufinder/default.aspx Also, have you checked ATIs power requirements or their Crossfire PSU list? Keaton
According to AMD-ATI, HX520 is not capable of, but according to Corsair is capable. Well that is quite confusing. I calculated power demands of a 4850 crossfire rig (my current system + another 4850 Vapor-X) on this site: http://extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine and it says 398W .... I know that total amperage provided by the psu unit is also important. But still confusing though.... Can anyone enlighten me? Should i stick with my current rig? Yellowbeard
From what I have seen so far, the ratings from both Nvidia and ATI are a bit on the high side. You'll be fine with the HX-520.
GeForce6200
I've been running 2 HIS4850 in Crossfire since August 08. No problems at all, Phenom 9500,790FX, 7 fans all 100% solid, even in the summer heat.
