Shado
I have the Corsair 850TX installed on my lan party rig for a couple months. Recently, the connector on the PSU started to come loose. It is still functioning, but I am worried that it may fry something if I'm not careful with it when the machine is running. I couldn't see the connection inside if the cabling is loose inside. What should I do?
Yellowbeard
Do you mean that the 24 pin connect is coming loose at the ATX plug on the MOBO? Please be more descriptive of what is actually happening.
Shado
It is the adapter in the back of the PSU where you connect the power cable to a power outlet. It appears that the plugging and unplugging action of the power cable (I bring this to my friend's place for lan party) has loosened up the adapter on the PSU. It can be pulled out of the PSU a couple millimeters; I haven't tried pulling hard on it however. The PSU still supplies power and functions normally so far, but I am worried that it may short out and fry my components. I'm not sure what that would be called, hope this is a little clearer
JoeBob
You mean the AC receptacle in the back? Similar to this.
Shado
That is it! Thank you specmike. Yes that's the thing that started coming loose, it still powers my system fine but I'm afraid of moving my lan party rig around now worried that it would short and fry something.
