Nilay
I want to ask that which of Corsair Flash voyager is genuine......made in china or made in taiwan.....?? Both have very different feel & design. China product is thicker than taiwan product.....why...?? same product but different dimension...!! any company in the world is not making their product like this. & not to forget that Chinese flash voyager has very slow write speed and access time is much longer than taiwan flash voyager. also Where can i get the conformation of S/N......? There is no registration on corsair website.
Wired
Some are made in China, some are made in Taiwan, however all of the fake ones are labeled as China. Confusing, I know :) Ultimately, post a pic of it and the Corsair guys can identify it.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 20, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 20, 2009 Can you post a picture of the back of the package for both drives, and the performance should be about the same if they are the same size. Also where did you purchase them from?
Nilay
I purchased from local shop. I am from India (Gujarat state). I am not able to post the picture of that drive because i sent it to my reseller for replacement (due to slow write speed). But i have the S/N which is 090960070 for 8GB flash voyager (made in china). When i will get the new voyager i must post the pics and performance. also i would mention that previously i used 2 corsair product and it was assy in taiwan and there is no problem at all with that product. I purchased the 8gb flash voyager on 6th May 2009 and sent it for replacement on 7th May 2009 and still it is not come.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 21, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 21, 2009 If that happens again please try and format the drive with the Format utility from the SD-CARD Organization. Then run the test again and see if that helps.
pOverlord
I recently received two Voyager GT 16GB assembled in China. I scanned the back of the package. If they are fake, they've done a good job... If it helps, there's no "16G" on the indicator bulb. http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/pp153/pOverlord/CMFUSB20-16GBGT.jpg Before testing I used the SD Formatter. http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/pp153/pOverlord/HDTune_Benchmark_Corsair_VoyagerGT.png http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/pp153/pOverlord/HDTune_File_Benchmark_Corsair_Voyag.png
Wired
Are there any characters on the USB port itself like the back of the package?
pOverlord
G16G FG2970274 On both of them the same inscription. edit: 09306021-0 on the other side.
pOverlord
Tested them on another computer. Here are the results: http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/pp153/pOverlord/HDTune_Benchmark_Corsair_VoyagerGT_.png http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/pp153/pOverlord/HDTune_File_Benchmark_Corsair_Vo-1.png The bad first results and the fact that they where assembled in china made me distrust. And following this guide I must assume they are genuine: http://reviews.ebay.ie/How-To-Spot-Fake-Corsair-Flash-Drives_W0QQugidZ10000000011210190
