EVGA 790 SLI FTW and Memory mismatch issue

Recommended Posts

I bought this mobo new and 2 sets of TW3X4G1333C9DHX to make 8GB of ram, but every tool I run is identifying it with the same part number but in 2 pairs of different speeds see report below these were bought at the same time and I have to force the system into linked mode with fsb of 1333 for a q9400 and set the timings manually otherwise it defaults to 1066 because I am wondering of the slower of the two ram pairs. I even updated the bios a few minutes ago and reran the tool just to check and I get the same results.

With two sets like that DDR1066 would be suggested and depending on the version they may be set to DDR1066 so they will post at default voltage of 1.5 Volts but the tested settings would need to be manually set.

Where do you find the version number on the label themselves? I was just curious why they would show up like that, I have them set to the manual settings of lynced 1333 fsb and 9,9,9,24 and 2t and 1.6v and some times the board defaults back to safe mode and sometimes it comes up fine, so something is not right. Course now I have been running for 2 8 hour days without a crash or anything so once up the system is very stable etc, running memtest and prime so I am just wondering if every tool identifying the memory as two different speeds is an issue.

Try increasing the memory voltage to 1.8 Volts and if there is a setting for the NB/SPP Voltage increase it 2 Volts as well. And as I said before the default speed will be at 1.5 Volts usually DDR1066.
