wun911
I have the following specs: Evga 780i SLI FTW 1000 Wat Corsair PSU 9800 GT in SLI WD raptors in RAID 0 Windows XP 2 Gb of DDR 2 ram CMX1024-6400PRO I think my ram is dead, I did a memtest 86+ at both 800mhz and 820 mhz and the screne was covered with red error readings in like 1 seccond. The ram was working fine for many years at 820 Mhz 5.5.5.15 T2 times. I thought I had a virus, so I format and try to install windows and it keeps on crashing. The ram modules have the following numbers printed on them: CM2X1024-64000PRO XMS2-6400 1024MB 800 Mhz 5.5.5.12 XMS6405V1.3 It has a white sticker on the other side with a tick that says: N11360 ACCT60505704 I have my fingers crossed you still make these modules with the flashing lights and the funky silver heat sinks??? Wired
The PRO series hasn't been made in years. Are you testing one stick at a time in the same slot to make sure a SLOT hasn't gone bad? Also, what voltage are you running them at?
wun911
I have performend the task you have suggested... Only one of the sticks is faulty the seccond stick is fine. Voltage is set to auto which works fine for the 'working' stick. I'm pretty sure the slot is ok because the working stick works fine in that slot (memtest86 pass for 2 hrs). I have tried putting the faulty stick into another slot but still came up with errors in memtest86+ It's a pitty you dont make them with the flashing lights anymore it was so cool back then you should bring it back in some retro style DDR3 modules ;) 1: What volts would you like me to test the faulty stick at??? 2: I assume I have to return both sticks seeming they are a matched pair??? Synthohol
quite frankly, if you dont mind my .02 grab a pair of inexpensive value select ram in the meantime, you are likely to have some issues if you try to combine to 2 sets once your RMA comes back anyway. i have the same flashy ram in my M2N32-SLI. solid as a rock so i know where you are coming from!
