KenBro
I am trying to upgrade my Dell Precision 690. The original power supply has only one PCIe connector and I need 2. The motherboard is a Dell XU361 with the E5000X chipset. This motherboard has a 24 pin and a 20 pin connector. I haven't been able to find a power supply that has both a 24 pin and 20 pin connector. they usually have one or the other. Does anyone have any ideas? Wired
Googled that PC and it looks like a proprietary power supply. Go to Dell for a new one.
KenBro
Dell has been useless. I couldn't even get the configuration of the pinouts from Dell. We need the new PCIe 8 and PCIe 6 connector to put in a ATI 4850x2 video card. We need to drive 4 monitors and we only have one PCIe slot. I purchased a HX1000w power supply, but I don't know what to plug into the 2nd 20-pin connector on the motherboard.
Wired
Depending on what'll be running on the video cards, you may be able to go down to a less power hungry card that can run off of the slot's power unassisted. Or you may be able to find a splitter online.
