gvlral
I am building a system using the MSI DKA790GX Platinum Motherboard. I have Corsair Twin2x4096-8500C5D G, 4GB DDR2 1066MHz, PC2-8500 C5 memory. I know the board supports PC2-8500 but can not confirm compatiblity using the configurator. Does anyone have any information?
Yellowbeard
The memory will work but, due to limits of the memory controllers on the AMD CPUs, you may not get the full 1066. Some users can and others cannot and it varies from CPU to CPU.
gvlral
Thanks, Do you know if this will hinder system stability, as I am more concerned about it than about speed ?
Yellowbeard
You should not have stability issues. You just won't be able to OC much and likely won't get to DDR1066. The only way you'll know is to install and test and tweak the BIOS.
