_craven_
Hi, this is my first post here :D I bought a Corsair HX1000W PSU in February 2009. At first its 10 cm fan was spinning as usual, but now it isn't. Is it normal or should I send it back for warranty? I can run GTA IV over 3 hours and FarCry 2) without getting random shutdown, just like when the fan was spinning. I have an ASUS P6T Deluxe, Intel Core i7 920, Corsair TR3X6G-1600 C9, Palit Revolution 700 Deluxe, 2x Seagate HDD (1 is 1TB and the other is 320 GB), and standard LG DVD-RW. Oh, 1 more thing. When I play some heavy games like GTA IV, GRID or FarCry 2, my HX1000W produce a noisy sound, like ssssssshhhhhhhhh. It is very noticeable. Is it normal? Thank you very much
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 11, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 11, 2009 If the fan does not spin at all then it should be replaced, the fan should ALWAYs spin, although in most cases it will spin very slowly. To have the unit replaced directly through Corsair, please use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it. Be sure to check the box that says “I've already spoken to Technical Support and/or RAM Guy.”
