LaughingMonkey
I connected my new Corsair TX850W and turned the computer on with the case power switch and immediately there was a bang and smoke pouring out of my computer. I reconnected my old power supply and everything was ok (to my knowledge) in the computer. What happened? I am currently sending the power supply back to where I got it but I would like to know if I got the same model will this happen again? Is there a conflict with my computer hardware? My old power supply is a Enermax Liberty 620W. Thanks in advance.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 11, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 11, 2009 Sounds like a cap in the PSU blew out, at this point I would suspect it was a freak incident and you would not have any issues using a replacement. You mentioned that you were replacing the PSU with the reseller, but if you have any problems or would like to have it replaced directly through us you can use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it. Be sure to check the box that says “I've already spoken to Technical Support and/or RAM Guy.”
