rodlamas
Hello Gents, It's my first post here... Well, I've bought some hardware in order to built a new desktop and that includes the P45 chipset P5Q3 DELUXE/WIFI-AP Asus MB and the TW3X4G1600C9DHX Corsair memory pack. It should work perfectly @ FSB 1333 MHz, right? The only issue should be running it at 1600 MHz, which would need an overclock to the processor, as it is a Q9550 and its maximum FSB is 1333 MHz. Am I right? Can you give some more hints, clues and eventually some help? Thanks a lot!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 8, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 8, 2009 With that CPU and MB the fastest you can run the memory would be DDR1333 unless you over clcok the CPU. The memory frequency cannot be more than the CPU FSB with Intel chipsets.
rodlamas
Thanks a lot. But with that configuration - P5Q3 Deluxe Wifi/Ap-On - Core 2 Quad Q9550 - TW3X4G1600C9DHX There shouldn't be any problems running it @ 1333 MHz, I mean, the system shouldn't be unstable at all, right? One more question: I'm builinding this system with 2 SATA Hard Disks and GeForce GTX 260 Core 216. Which Corsair power supply unit would serve me at its best, considering no overclock? Thanks again :sunglasse
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted May 8, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted May 8, 2009 Yes with one set they will or should run at DDR1333 with the setting I gave and be 100% stable, and yes our PSU's are among the best on the market.
