K.Mak
Hi, I currently am running a system composed of: Core 2 Duo E6400 oced at 3 ghz (ancient, I know) GeForce 260 Core 216 2 GB of Corsair XMS2 PC-6400 memory Sound Blaster X-Fi Extreme Music 1 640 GB Western Digital Caviar Black SATA hard drive along with a couple of USB devices. My Corsair 520 HX has been faithfully chugging away these past few years and has never let me down. However, I'm planning to upgrade to a Phenom II 955, so the motherboard, processor and memory are getting swapped out. The GPU, sound card and hard drive will remain the same. Will my Corsair 520 HX still be able to run free in the grassy fields known as my rig or will I have to swap it for a bigger dog? I've used a lot of PSU calculators and they actually seem to vary, especially since a bunch of them haven't been updated with a Phenom II. 520 watts was sometimes cutting it a bit close. I'm not really planning to overclock the cpu, more so the gpu.
