Pump just started making a loud hissing noise

lowboy72, Did you add the ENTIRE bottle of coolant in the unit as the supplemental data sheet stated? If so, good. Next you would need to top off the reservoir to the bottom fill threads with distilled water. Sometimes bubbles will get lodged in the pump too. You will need to gently rock the HC unit around until the noise changes or goes away. If you have used any other additives or UV dye in the HC that is not water-based engine coolant friendly, the HC components could act funny. Report back if the pump still isn't behaving correctly. lowboy72, Bio-Hazard had just posted a topic with the same issue raised. Did this begin to happen when the room temps started getting warmer. Like above 80F? The temps back in January were not 80F in your home. So, give this a quick try: Either remove the finger guard or cover and apply pressure on the back of the pump. If the noise goes away, then a small crimp or clamp is needed to manage the noise. (NOTICE, don't put your fingers in the running fan.) PLEASE report back with your findings. Our continuous running HC's run in a room temp of 70-74F controlled by the building's A/C unit. Stev
