hyde
I just bought 1GB RAM (VS1GSDS333) to update my old IBM T42 2373 laptop. After installing my new RAM the machine will freeze within 1-2 minutes of booting up. When I remove the RAM the machine operates normally. While using memtest86 to test the RAM I'm finding that it too freezes, specifically in test #8 (happens as quick as 1 minute in, and as long as ~20). If I remove the new RAM the test runs smoothly. Laptop (all stock, no add-ons until I bought this RAM): IBM T42 (#2373) Pentium M 1.7 Ghz 512MB RAM ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 80GB HD Any suggestions? I've submitted for an RMA, but wanted to see if there is something else I should consider.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 13, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 13, 2009 Please install just our module and then go to BIOS setup and load setup defaults and look for a setting called legacy USB if it is there try and Disable this option and then exit the BIOS and run http://www.memtest.org the latest version and see if it will pass.
