Redwolf1750
I wanted to know can I run 1066Mhz with 800Mhz memory if they run as two separate matched pairs?
Wired
Multiple issues. First, all of the memory will run at the same speed / timings / voltage. Second, mixing memory is never recommended. What are the part #s you are thinking of mixing?
Redwolf1750
Both have the same model/part #s CM2X1024-8500 C5D just one set is 1066 and the other is 800Mhz. The 1066 set also has a XMS2-8500 number on them along with 07383003 as well. Sorry I'm still learning all this stuff!
Wired
If they're the same part # on the label then they are both 1066 Mhz. Where are you getting 800 from?
Redwolf1750
That was what The RAM guy said he thought they were and what they were sold as but CPUID says that they are the CM2X1024-8500 C5D model #s. I am still waiting on the second set but I got a picture of them and they have the same model # as the first set.So your guess is probably better then mine on whats going on.Thanks for all your help as you can tell I need it. Redwolf1750
Can the CPUID program tell me what speed the memory is supposed to be and if so what do I look for?
Wired
Original thread: http://www.asktheramguy.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77110 Considering that info, they could be 800, could be 1066. You'd have to try it and see.
