HX1000 Voltage question

I just got my new great 1kw PSU from Corsair and install it. I notice once I load my system meaning my two gtx 280 run at full while running folding @ home on both GPU, then I have my quad core CPU loaded to 60%. Doing this I open everest and notice the 12v drops to 11.93v and sometimes to 11.88 those are the only to values it stays in. Is this normal.

I just got this new PSU to replace the enermax galaxy DDX 1000 the system has been running for 25 min as I type and is under load now. So far my system is very stable should I be concern. I also notice a very low buzzing noise on and off at a constant rate, might be electrical then a fan to me.

I'm not going to replace this unit since I took me 2 hours to put everything back in rewire you know what I'm taking I have a massive gaming rig not your average Joe's HP pc from bestbuy. I will RMA only if it gets super load or the system becomes unstable like random reboots or the PSU just dies.

Just hope it won't kill my multi dollar system when it goes out:sigh!:

The 12v rail is well within ATX specifications, the spec states that the 12v rail should remain within 5% which would mean anything from 11.4-12.6v would be acceptable and should not cause any problems. Everest is measuring the voltage regulated by the motherboard, not the voltage from the PSU itself, so if you were to measure the PSU with a multimeter, I would suspect you would have slightly different results. Either way, there should be nothing to worry about.

Thanks for the response and I'm not going to worry about it. So far I've been running for over 15 hours and perfectly stable under heavy load which I'm running folding @ home on both cards and also the smp client for the cpu as well.

No problem at all, the noise that you mentioned would not be anything to worry about regarding the functionality of the PSU, however if it gets worse and becomes bothersome then we can get it replaced for you!
