jswriter
I finally got around to installing my HX1000 PSU (replaced HX620). However, there's a 4-pin cable running from the HX620 to an EATX12V port in the motherboard (Asus P5 series). The cable is attached to the HX620 in the same port as the other 3-4 permanent/non-modular cables. The HX1000 does not have a similarly attached cable, nor was a 4-pin modular cable included. The mobo manual said the system won't boot without that 4-pin cable plugged in, but I tried anyway. All that happened was the PC powered on for about 2 seconds then shut off. Is there a 4-pin adapter cable I can get that will plug into one of the HX1000's 6 or 8 pin ports? Thanks for any suggestions!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 8, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 8, 2009 There is an 8 pin connector which is fixed to the PSU. The connector should split apart in the middle to give you backwards compatibility with the 4 pin socket. You just need to use one side of the 8 pin.
