Darklite
Hi, First, i'm french... sorry for my english. I have a Q9450 and corsair XMS3 2go 7-7-7-20 1600mhz and last bios MSI With all auto in bios and spead septrum disable, computer freeze always, at install on window, in game, ... I have OC CPU at 400mhz and coef x8, 2.66ghz up at 3.2 ghz and ratio at 1:2 Now memory at 9-9-9-20 1600mhz 1T And i haved up cpu voltage at 1.3, ram voltage at 1.83, nb voltage and sb voltage. Now computer is stable, but i m not at 7-7-7-20 (timing) In bios when i enable manual timing, i can enter 7-7-7-20 but i need enter all other nomber (TRC, TRRD, TWTR, TWR, TRFC, TRTP, TFAW, CMD round trip latency) What is other number please ? thank you, Jonathan PS: i up at 1.9v memory voltage for 7-7-7-20 I think this bios of MSI is bad, why he didn't use auto mod to boot and don't freeze computer ? i m obliged to OC or pc freeze ! DerekT
i m obliged to OC or pc freeze ! Yes, you must set the CPU FSB to 400Mhz to run stably. Advanced DRAM settings are to be set to Auto. MSI is usually pretty slow with BIOS updates. Using the best DRAM slots is also a good move. While pink and light blue certainly would not be our first choice or any choice in colors, colors aren't usually a major problem if the board performs well. Where we do find actual fault with MSI's choice in color coding is the memory slots. Traditionally, same colored slots are used to indicate the appropriate installation locations when running a kit of dual-channel memory. MSI has instead chosen to segment the slots by color based on which channel they belong to (pink being Channel A and light blue being Channel B). In the end this matters very little as long as the user understand where the modules should be placed. Which ones are the right ones, you may ask? We found our greatest overclocking was accomplished when using Slot 2 of Channel A and Slot 2 of Channel B. http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/hh293/DerekT2008/memory_slots.jpg So, try using the second slot (closest to the CPU) and the fourth slot. Darklite
Set other advanced DRAM settings to Auto. I can't When i choose manual for timing, all other advanced DRAM settings have number (for exemple 38-29-18-14...) I need enter specific number ? DerekT
There are no specific numbers. Allow the numbers that are set to stay at their values then and contact MSI if you wish to know what to do with a BIOS that does not set to Auto. In other words. Enter BIOS, Load Setup Defaults, Save Setup Defaults, change the main timings and leave the others alone. They will default to the Auto values and MSI will insert those values. If you are concerned with this MSI method of enumerating a plug and play value, then contact MSI to get more information from them. Darklite
Hi =) News : Im always with 9-9-9-24 timing. I haved buy new ram : TWIN3X4096-1600C7DHX (before TWIN3X2048-1600C7DHX) In your web site i don t haved memory : http://www.corsair.com/products/xms3dhx/default.aspx Only C9 version... ??! Well, with new ram, 2x 2go. I start PC with new module, and with same OC : Q9450 at 3.2ghz FSB 400, ratio 1:2 Ram 1600 mhz 9-9-9-24 (auto) Voltage ram 1.88V (before 1.83v) PC start good, but in windows, i haved aleatoiry bug ; process crash... I up voltage to 1.92V. I have always bug, but less than before. I start a memtest86+, no error. I start a game (gta4) game crash after 30 sec. I test to enter ram in modul 2 and 4 (actually it's 1 and 3) A suggest please ? =)
Darklite
With ram in 2-4 slot, pc is more stable, but i have crash in game... In gta4 after 1 - 5 min, message error of windows, game is closed. With Crysis, in game menu, same message... World of Warcraft, everywhere bug of shade. memtest86+, 5 pass, 0 error. It s possible to have a buged ram ? or it s a conflict with the system ? Darklite
I follow instruction of "RAM GUY's - Corsair Product Guru" :): POST ID # = 359192 I would suggest bumping up your northbridge voltage up to about 1.45-1.5 volts, and see if that makes any difference. I up NB to 1.5V, no bug I down to 1.38, bug (no bug in 3Dmarks Vantage) I up to 1.42 in test, no bug for instance... Thank you RAM GUY's
