Chapa30
Hello, Just i simple question? Can someone please tell me if these modules can run in Dual Channel Mode in the Asus P5Q. Corsair Dominator 2GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-8500C5 TwinX (2x1GB) Asus P5Q I was just wondering cos the board manual vendor list says that it will only run in single channel? And does this mean i can only run 1 stick in single channel or 2 sticks? Thanks
Wired
There is no such thing as Dual Channel memory, as this is a property of the memory controller in how it handles memory. This is why you can place memory in different slot configurations on a motherboard and it will register as single or dual channel. In otherwords, they'll run just fine in dual channel. Depending on your CPU's FSB, you may have to OC your system a bit to enable the memory to run at full speed, but that's a limitation of the memory controller architecture, and not the memory itself. Chapa30
why does the Asus P5Q Manual QVL say that this modules will only work in Single Channel Mode? Thanks
Wired
Reading the manual, they didn't list the KIT, they listed ONE stick. Running one stick will always be in single channel mode.
