moogman79
Hi Guys following scenario: 4x SSD 128Gb on a Adaptec 5805. Does Corsair offer SSD with SAS interface? Are there are any problems with the SATA-SDD on the Adaptec Controler, and what performance could be expected in RAID 5 and also what stripe size would be optimal.... Thanks for your help

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 7, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 7, 2009 We have not tested that specific Card but I do not see any reason there would be any issues with any SATA/SATA2 Raid card on the market.
moogman79
Okay thx for response, what would be the ideal strip size in a raid5 with 4 ssd´s ?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 9, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 9, 2009 It is really dependent on the card and what you plan on using the drive for. Most will set the cluster size to 512K and if you will install an O.S. on that would probably be optimal, but if it will just have large files like AVI's then a larger cluster size me be preferred. dancane
Moog -- I'm heading down the same path. 5805 w/ 4 128GB SSD (Corsair P128) What non-default settings did you make on the 5805 to speed it up? What should I be looking at? Cheers, Dan
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted August 3, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted August 3, 2009 There is a thread called Partition Alignment and Techspec6 would be who I would ask as he has setup different Raid configurations, look for that thread and post this question there.
