DerekT
Download Memtest86+ Version 2.11 from--->Hereand extract the ISO image. Burn the ISO image to an CD-ROM disk. Download CPU-z from Here .Shut the system down. Insert a single stick in the first slot (Closest to the CPU/Black Slots) and one in the third slot. Restart and enter your BIOS, load Setup Defaults, Save Setup Defaults and set to these values. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted April 1, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted April 1, 2009 NP but if you are not getting errors in memtest but still have some other issue I would check for another cause before you just blame the memory.

DerekT
well it still hangs. now even faster than before. Should i try to put the memory sticks in the brown slots? If you pass memtest then your issues are external to the memory regardless of your belief that the memory is at fault. I would install a fresh OS. Very likely you have issues that are software based. rickyb
But the memtest just show if the sticks are working? right? so they may work as they should but maybe the timing or the setup of the sticks need some more tweeking? I can try a new win on another disk and see if that works. just that it seems wierd that it hangs faster now after i tryed this.
