Dyrnwyn
Greetings all. I noticed that there was a low-level buzzing in my headphones...I started fiddling with the connecter (going from the front of the p182 to the HD Audio slot at the back of the MoBo) and realized that when I moved the cable near the sleeved cables from the power supply the noise got louder, and the inverse was also true. Is there a way to shield either of these? Thanks
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 30, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 30, 2009 Do you get the same buzzing when you have sound coming from the speakers, or is it just from the headphones?
Dyrnwyn
When plugging the same headphones into the rear jack, no buzz. And the buzz literally intensifies if I bring the lead HD Audio cable from the front close to or in contact with the power supply mains.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 31, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 31, 2009 Unfortunately there is not a lot you can do about the EMI from the PSU, power cables are always going to give off slight EMI and the wires act like an antenna. If you have a front audio port that is not grounded properly, or the audio cables are not shielded very well then you can run into these issues.
