Motherbooard quit booting with TX650

Recommended Posts

I recently put together a system powered by a TX650. At first, I couldn't get it to boot. It powered up, then down, then up, then down again. I RMA'd the processor and mobo and that seemed to do the trick, or so I assumed.

Then, this morning, I tried to reboot the machine. The LED on the mobo come on and the fans spin up, then they shut down and on and on.

I can't figure out why it worked fine for a few days and then quit working.

First, I would try this basic PSU functionality test and see if the PSU does the same thing when its not connected to the motherboard. If you get the same problems with the unit restarting on its own then lets get it replaced. You can use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it. Be sure to check the box that says “I've already spoken to Technical Support and/or RAM Guy.”

However if the unit turns on and stays on, then you likely have some other problem, and I would take the board out of the case and bench test the system with minimal components to make sure you do not have a short or a grounding issue.
