I bought a kit of factory match sticks. still locked to 800 MHz. how to you unlocked it to 1066 MHz??? this is the only ram in the system. I am disappointed. I have manual raised it to 2.10 volts like mention to do 5-5-5-15-2T at 2.1V for 1066 MHz. does not work. my computer is not overclocked. not overclocked. read my computer info. please help me unlock the potential of these ram ddr2 1066 twin2x4096-8500c5df-g. which tool aid or software would you recommend me to view my ram in windows xp. maybe it is my hardware detector that is at fault under windows xp
Wired
Download CPU-Z and look under the MEMORY TAB (not the SPD TAB). It will tell you how fast your memory is.

Wired
so my ram is not running at 1066 or 800 but at 400mhz if I understand correctly.Incorrect. 400 is the ACTUAL speed, 800 is the EFFECTIVE speed. You would see 533 there if they were running at the correct speed. All you should have to do is to go into your BIOS and change the memory / DRAM speed to 1066, as you have stated you have already changed the voltage and timings to the correct settings. DerekT
Download Memtest Version 2.11from--->Here and extract the ISO image. Burn the ISO image to an CD-ROM disk. Download CPU-z from Here . Insert a single stick in the first slot (Closest to the CPU) and enter your BIOS, set to these values:AI Overclock Tweaker Ai Overclock Tuner = Manual CPU Ratio Setting: 8 FSB Frequency = 333 PCIE Frequency = 100 FSB Stap to Northbridge = 333 Mhz DRAM Frequency = 1066Mhz DRAM Timing Control = Manual CAS Latency = 5 DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay = 5 DRAM RAS# Precharge = 5 DRAM RAS# Activate to Precharge = 15 RAS# to RAS# Delay = Auto Row Refresh Cycle Time (tRFC) = 60 Write Recovery Time = Auto Read to Precharge Time = Auto Command Rate = 2N(T) All other to Auto DRAM Static Read Control = Auto DRAM Read Training = Disabled Mem. OC Charger = Auto AI Transaction Booster = Disabled Relax Level = 2 CPU Voltage = Auto CPU PLL Voltage = Auto FSB Termination Voltage = Auto DRAM Voltage = 2.1v NB Voltage = 1.25v SB Voltage = Auto PCI-E SATA Voltage = Auto Loadline Calibration = Auto CPU Spread Spectrum = Disabled PCIE Spread Spectrum = Disabled Clock Over-Charging Voltage = Auto CPU GTL Volage Reference = Auto NB GTL Voltage Reference = Auto Legacy USB = Disabled for Memtest, Enabled afterwards.Shut the system down. Boot to the Memtest CD with that single stick and allow for two full paasses. Shut the system down. Remove the first stick and insert it in slot threee. Repeat memtest. Shut the system down. Remove the first stick and insert the second stick in slot one. Repeat Memtest. You have now tested both sticks in single channel mode. Now test for the Dual Channel Mode function of the memory controller. Insert a stick in slot one and three and memtest. If Stable enter Windows and post screenshots of CPU-z's CPU, Memory and SPD tabs.
