CyberVillain
Hi. Your product page for the HX620 power supply states 36 dB maximum noise. I would like to know what this number refers to. Is it only the noise level of the fan? I would like an answer from an official Corsair person so that I can refer to that statement when dealing with a RMA problem I have with a reseller. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 19, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 19, 2009 Yes the graph shows the average noise level from the PSU including the Fan at what out put level. you would need to measure it with a noise meter in a controlled testing environment as it would not compensate for other fan and or system noise. http://www.asktheramguy.com/v3/attachment.php?attachmentid=5376&stc=1&d=1237499388 Are you having a problem with your PSU and if so what is the problem exactly? CyberVillain
Thanks for a quick response! Yes I'm having a problem with my unit, it makes a high frequency noise when under load. The computer is a Intel Core i7 920, nvidia GTX 295... My reseller will not refund since they claim the noise is under the level that Corsair state. I do not know if they are correct in their measurement of the noise level, but I can here the noise/beep from the next room... Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 20, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 20, 2009 I would try some of the things mentioned in this thread and see if there is any difference. Also, you may want to test the PSU in a different system to make sure that the noise follows the PSU. If all else fails and it looks like a replacement would resolve the issues, then lets get it replaced! You can use the On Line RMA Request Form and we will be happy to replace it. Be sure to check the box that says “I've already spoken to Technical Support and/or RAM Guy.”
