Hi,

I am having problems getting my motherboard to boot my Corsair Dominator DDR2 ram to run at 1066MHz instead the system seems only boot at 800MHz. When I manually set the Bios timings to 533MHz the Bios will not post.

The ram I am trying to run is two sticks of

Corsair Dominator CM2X1024-8500C5D

XMS-8500 1024 MB 1066 MHz 5-5-5-18 XMS8505v1.2

(I do not know the voltage)

However on the main Corsair website the ram is listed as 5-5-5-15-2T with a voltage of 2.1

This is what I changed my Bios to (At this setting the Bios would not post):

Memory Timming and Voltage:

Memory Clock Mode [Manual]

Memclock Value [533 MHz]

DRAM Timing Mode [both]

CAS Latency [5 CLK]

TRCD [5 CLK]

TRP [5 CLK]

tRTP [Auto]

TRAS [18 CLK]

TRC [Auto]

tWR [Auto]

TRRD [Auto]

tWTR [Auto]

tRFC0 [Auto]

tRFC1 [Auto]

tRFC2 [Auto]

tRFC3 [Auto]

Memory OverVoltage [2.10000]

Did I incorrectly change the timings? What should I do to get the memory to run at 1066MHz?

Phenom and Phenom II have issues with high end memory. I advise those who purchase the AMD processors to also purchase mid-line memory if they want to ensure that the system will work correctly. Your processor is a hybrid of X2 and Phenom I technology and many of these processors will not accept 1066Mhz oon the memory.

thank you both for your responses

i looked at that other thread and it seems i have the same problem i dont know if its the processor limitation or not because I can run one stick of ram (1gb) at 1066 with no problem and with no problems with Memtest

but as soon as i add the second stick (1gb) the bios wont post. Im thinking maybe i might need to increase the voltage to the processor but i've never done that. Could that be a cause?

anythoughts?

You should not need to add voltage to the processor core. A bit of voltage increase to the memory controller may be beneficial but, to date AMD users are not having good luck overall trying to run 1066.
