not seeing all of the memory

I would try these settings:

Configure System Frequency/Voltage

  • AI Overclocking = Manual

  • CPU Frequency = 266

  • DRAM Frequency = 800MHz

  • Performance Mode = Auto

  • PCI Express Frequency = 100

  • PCI Clock Synchronization Mode = 33.33

  • Memory Voltage = 1.8v

  • CPU Core Voltage = Auto

  • FSB Termination Voltage = Auto

  • MCH Chipset Voltage = Auto

  • ICH Chipset Voltage = Auto

Advanced Chipset Settings

  • Configure DRAM by SPD = Disabled

  • DRAM CAS# Latency = 5

  • DRAM RAS# Prechardge = 5

  • DRAM RAs# to CAS# Delay = 5

  • DRAM RAS# Activate to Precharge: 18

  • DRAM Write recovery Time = 6

I`ve tried these settings with my Asus P5w DH Deluxe and Twin2X4096-6400C5 and I use 32bit OS. But Windows System Properties only shows 2.0 Gigs of RAM?? CPUZ can see all my ram thou...

I use bios ver.2801

What version of Windows and how much memory in on your Video Card and how many Video cards are installed?

I use XP Professional Versjon 2002 with SP2. How can I check how much memory in on my Video Card? I just have one Video Card (ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro)

Windows XP is a 32 Bit O.S. and by default it will not let any application have access to more then 2.0 Gig of memory and why its only showing 2.0 Gig in that application. How much memory is shown in CPU-Z? If its all showing it is just a Windows Limitation.

Yes, I know 32bit OS can`t see all 4 gigs, but shouldn`t I have at least more than 2.0 gigs? CPU-Z is showing all 4 gigs.

No Applications will be limited to 2.0 Gig unless they are made to see more memory like Photo Shop and you use some of the hacks to the registry.

I don`t understand what you mean. Can you explain more? (I`m so bad in english, sorry)

(I will use big sample liberaries in my music program Cubase 5, would be nice to use more than 2.0 gigs) I`ve heard people using 2,8gigs with 32bit OS.

When you boot the system and see the BIOS screen, how much memory is shown at that point?

Also, does your BIOS have a function called Memory Hole Remapping or something similar?

P5W DH does not have a setting called memory remapping. Instead it has:

  1. 32Bit OS Disable
  2. 64Bit Os Enable

Set to 32Bit OS Enable

Actually my P5W DH has a setting called memory remapping, and I`ve tried with it disabled first (not more than 2.0 gigs in system properties) and than enabled (also not more than 2.0 gigs in system properties)

When I boot the system and see the BIOS screen, it shows 4096MB...

What can I do for XP to see more than 2.0 gigs?

Very likely Intel has changed the setting names via BIOS revisions. That is an old board and my documentation is from board release.

If you see all 4GB in BIOS but not in Windows XP, then this is related to the motherboard BIOS and the 32Bit OS.

I advise you to move to a 64bit OS.

Ok, just to be sure, the very first screen I see when I boot my computer it stands 4096MB. It doesn`t says it is the RAM, but I just assume that. Am I right? (It`s before I press delete to coming in the BIOS)

Look up one of my previous threads: 394536

One thing could be that your using 32 bit which only utilizes 2-3 gigs

but you can try this:

1) Open up the start menu

2) Type in : msconfig

3) Click on msconfig

4) Click continue in the UAC if applicable

5) Click the boot tab

6) Click " Advanced Options"

7) Under "Maximum Memory" either set the amount of MB, or untick it

8) Click Ok, and Ok again

9) Restart the computer, and check to see if Vista recognizes it

*10) if this fails, check to see if you inserted your ram correctly

Your Welcome if this works
