siuengr
I am having the same problem the the same ram. I have a new ASUS M3A78-EM MB. It works great with only one stick of ram installed, but when I have both sticks installed it crashes frequently. I tried running memtest. It crashed with both stick installed as well, but passed when I ran it on each stick individually.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 12, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 12, 2009 If both modules passs http://www.memtest.org one at a time but you have that problem when both are installed it is either the MB has some problem or the memory controller in the CPU is failing in D/C. I would suggest testing the modules in a known working system to be sure.
siuengr
I tested both modules in a different system that is working fine and it crashed that system as well. Same thing, individually the modules work fine, but not together. I took the ram out of that system, 2x1GB DDR2 800, and put them in the motherboard I was having problems with, and they worked fine in dual channel. Memtest fails at 50% when it is doing the address test with both sticks are installed. I assume that is when it should be switching from one stick to the next.
