Grownman
I did a new build back a month ago with all new parts including the 1000WHX PSU. However, I am not sure if this is a common thing or not but whenever I am gaming or open something that is intensive in cpu/gpu it will slow my pc down a bit and then make a click sound and then everything will go back to normal. Is something wrong with the PSU or is it just a not even distribution of the lines through out the rails? I am hoping it the 2nd one as when i click "join game" the pc will freeze for a second or two and then go back to normal. If it is the 2nd one here is what my current wiring is. The two PCI-E 6+2 (non modular) run and connect to the GTX 295. The 24pin to the mobo & 8pin going to the mobo as well. I have 4 of the 6 slots on the 12V2 rail used for Molex & Sata Connections (Black) Not all of them are full as most of the lines only connect to one thing. -Jeff
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted March 12, 2009 Corsair Employees Share Posted March 12, 2009 Does this occur with just a single game, or is it multiple applications? Also, is there any difference if you use the modular 12v1 PCIE cables with the video card?
Grownman
This happens in many applications. I have not yet tried to switch the cables around. Will do so tonight.
