Voyager 32 Mb incredible slow writing

Hello,

my 32 MB voyager is incredible slow in writing multiple smaller files.

Just copied a folder with 235 jpegs, total amount 203 MB in 9 minutes and 23 seconds onto the flash drive. That´s whopping 0,36 mb/sec. Big files are better (1 GB file was transferred in107 seconds (9,34 mb/sec). The flash drive was formatted before (ntfs). Fat 32 wasn´t faster, too.

hdspeed says writing is average 14,6 mb, but there are a lot of spots in the curve where the write speed drops heavily down, sometimes to zero.

Should I return the item?

Please try and format the drive with the Format utility from the SD-CARD Organization. Then run the test again and see if that helps.

Please try the HD-Bench software to test the performance with 100MB Files size.

The write should be about 8- MBps.

If you still have problems we can get it or them replaced, please use the RMA request found in TSXpress or follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!

Hello,

Formatted it with the utility. What benefit is it to format as SD card?

hdbench gives 18800 read, 12200 write and 1560 file copy. What is "file copy" ?

When copying 100 MB of data with windows explorer, it is nevertheless very slow:

- 100 Mb of files under 1 MB is 1,73 mb/sec

- 100 mb of files between 3 - 4 mb it gives 4,5 mb/ sec (according to system time).

Is that normal?
