TW3X4G1600C9DHX not working

Hello,

I have tested these two modules with MemTest+ 2.11 (One pass):

 

1.78~1.81V 400/1600 Dual Channel = more than 5000 errors.

1.78~1.81V 400/1600 Single Channel = more than 1000 errors on one and more than 20 on the other

 

Edit: Getting worse, same configuration and module as before but now ~50000 errors.

 

Bad modules? Bad config?

Already tested with NB 1.4V but still at 400/1600, no significant changes.

If I lower the cpu multiplier then these modules won't be able to run at 1600 isn't it?

As I want to have them working at 1600 please just tell me if I have to change cpu for that, quad? extreme? (i7 is not supported here).

 

I'll test at 1333 and 1066 in the next hours to see if it's a memory problem, thanks for replying.

One question, Intel says from x48 datasheets that max voltage for NB should be 1.37V. I misread perhaps? (those were a little bit too technical for me).

All tests has been done with NB 1.39V DRAM 1.80V (should 1.90V be used for two modules?), two different video cards and single memtest pass (unless errors are found).

 

Single Channel 266*9 266/1066 GIGABYTE 8400GS 512MB = PASS

Single Channel 400*6 400/1600 GIGABYTE 8400GS 512MB = PASS

Single Channel 266*9 266/1066 ALBATRON 9800GX2 1GB = PASS

Single Channel 400*6 400/1600 ALBATRON 9800GX2 1GB = FAIL (~45 errors at 50%)

Single Channel 400*6 400/1333 ALBATRON 9800GX2 1GB = PASS

 

Dual Channel 400*6 400/1333 ALBATRON 9800GX2 1GB = PASS

 

Apparently RAM is working here, it seem some issue between my albatron and memory modules set at 1600Mhz.

I really hope it's a bios setup related issue, any suggestion would be really appreciated.

Based on your test results, this could be a power related issue, voltage regulation on the motherboard, or a weak memory controller. What are the specifications on your PSU? Do you have a direct link?

 

The 9800GX2 is a very demanding GPU vs the Gigabyte 8400 you hav with respect to the power consumption. And, your tests pass up until your most power demanding settings:

 

Single Channel 400*6 400/1600 ALBATRON 9800GX2 1GB = FAIL (~45 errors at 50%)

Single Channel 400*6 400/1333 ALBATRON 9800GX2 1GB = PASS

 

Dual Channel 400*6 400/1333 ALBATRON 9800GX2 1GB = PASS

 

Will the system run both modules at 400 x 6 or x 8 with the Gigabyte GPU?

Dual Channel 400*6 400/1600 ALBATRON 9800GX2 1GB = Didn't tested with NB1.39V, but it fail on single channel here

Dual Channel 400*6 400/1333 GIGABYTE 8400GS 512MB = PASS

Dual Channel 400*6 400/1600 GIGABYTE 8400GS 512MB = FAIL

 

Now running fine 400x8 (but always with ram 1333Mhz), didn't memtested but with games/apps is stable.

Your offer is very kind as the help you gave me, thank you very much.

I don't think memory is the trouble here, I'll eventually take it up to this mainboard manufacturer forum to see if it's a chipset (or bios) problem.
