DerekT
im lookin to upgrade my system to the 2 twin 2x2048 kits i have a nvidia chipset MCP61 on Asus mobo NARRA3 AMD Processor Phenom 8400 Triple Core runnin Vista 32 Thnx That's an OEM HP machine and as such you would be well advised to use fully JEDEC approved memory and check with HP to be certain of the DRAM you purchase. I would NOT purchase any high end DRAM for that machine. You will not be able to use even the 4GB on a 32bit Vista OS. Very likely you will find about 3.2GB on a four GB population. These are the only Corsair modules that are tested to work with your system. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820146580 In a two module configuration. DerekT
What amount of DRAM are you using right now? If 2GB, then there's not much use in upgrading the DRAM if you stick with a 32bit OS.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted January 27, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted January 27, 2009 im lookin to upgrade my system to the 2 twin 2x2048 kits i have a nvidia chipset MCP61 on Asus mobo NARRA3 AMD Processor Phenom 8400 Triple Core runnin Vista 32 Thnx Derek gave a proper recommendation for the system you have. Your OEM system will not allow you to adjust certain voltages that may be necessary to get 4 modules or OCing type memory stable. Only certain memory is validated for the type of machine you have so that is what we recommend. This may also provide some helpful information: http://www.corsairmemory.com/_appnotes/AN806_Memory_Upgrade_Resource_Guide.pdf Please use the Corsair memory finder to select the proper memory options for your system: http://www.corsairmemory.com/configurator/default.aspx

2fst4u
i contacted HP they told me that the motherboard can except up to 8 gigs i know that vista 32 bit dont recognize more than 3 gigs im just asking if what i mentioned in the post will work
DerekT
Corsair does not have modules that would be supported in a 8GB configuration or even a four slot population for that machine. It might work, it might not, the TWIN high performance modules are NOT advised for your machine as you do not have the BIOS settings necessary to implement the voltages for high performance memory. My advice would be to purchase fully JEDEC approved standard 2GB Modules to see if it will work. Contact HP and ask them for approved 2GB 800Mhz modules for your system in an 8GB configuration.
