timba1210
Well, it's been a few months since I last asked, so I figured I'd inquire again. Any news on a forthcoming 64GB survivor?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted April 23, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 23, 2009 No and I am sorry but I would not expect any thing to change any time soon.
timba1210
Really? Does that mean that there will never be a Survivor larger than 32GB? Is Corsair abandoning that case/body style?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted April 24, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted April 24, 2009 No there is just no plan for a 64 Gig survivor at this time and I have never said there was.
snakeyez
It has been a couple of months so I had to ask if there has been any update on a 64gb Survivor? I have a 32gb and I have a need for a larger model.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted June 22, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted June 22, 2009 We are coming out with a new 128 Gig drive that you may be interested in. It will hit the stores shortly if not already!
snakeyez
Well, for my purposes and usage I really need a larger capacity Survivor. Surely Corsair will continue this product line?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted June 23, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted June 23, 2009 At this time there is just no easy way to build a drive of that size in the Survivor Configuration with out it looking like a Big Pipe with caps. It would have to be almost 2 times the Size of the Current Survivor. So I do not expect it any time soon.
Yellowbeard
The density of the Survivor's will be directly related to the availability of higher density flash memory ICs. The capacity of Survivor will go up only if the proper ICs to make it are available.
snakeyez
I see that the 64 GB Survivors are ready to roll out now. I want to order one, but I need to know if the new 64 GB Survivors are larger/longer than the current Survivors. Also, what's the difference with the GT models vs the non-GT models? Wired
GT faster than non-GT.
snakeyez
Based upon the dimension information I've found on Amazon.com, it sounds like the new 64 gb Survivors will be pretty big. Size for 32 gb Survivor: 4.3" x 1.6" x 0.4" ; 3.5 ounces Size for 64 gb Survivor: 6" x 4" x 1" ; 13.6 ounces Sounds pretty big to carry in the pocket, especially since it's round. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted November 3, 2009 Corsair Employee Share Posted November 3, 2009 The dimensions would be 112mm x 21mm or or 4.4" x .85" for the 64 Gig Survivor.
