Joe_Black
I'm building a gaming box for a friend and here's what I spec'd out for him: Asus P4C800-E Deluxe Intel P4 3.2C Corsair TwinX 1024R-3200C2 1GB DDR400 WD Raptor 36GB 10K RPM SATA (Quan. 2) Asus V9950TD 256MB Graphics Antec SL400 Pwr Kingwin K11 Case Sony DDU1621 DVD-ROM At power up I'm getting absolutely nothing but a repeating beep code, 1 long and 2 short. To the best of my knowledge this means a failed graphics controller. I've tried two known-good AGP cards and a PCI as well, still the same story. I'm figuring bad AGP socket. However, in the interest of exploring all avenues I'm here following the suggestion from another board that mentioned a possible issue with the registered memory on the P4C800-E. Ring any bells for anyone? Thanks, any info appreciated! Joe
CMC_SAVAGE
Ring.......Ring...... Your hunch would be correct. Registered RAM won't work in that board. No "R" or "RE" in the part #.
