VX550W Compatible with Older Motherboard?

Recommended Posts

I'd like to use the VX550W power supply (CMPSU-550VX) with my motherboard. It says that it is ATX2.2 and ATX2.01 and backward compatible. My motherboard is an ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI X16 ATX AMD Motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131568).

Will this power supply work with this motherboard? I'm under the impression that it will, but I wanted to make sure before I blow something up.

On the list of "Connectors included in this package" on the side of the box, I don't see a 4-pin CPU connector, whereas my motherboard definitely has one.

Is this a problem?

Here are the connectors listed:

- 1x ATX 24 pin & 20 pin compatible

- 1x EPS/ATX12V 8-4 pin

- 1x PCI-E 6 pin

- 1x PCI-E 6 pin & 8 pin compatible

- 6x SATA

- 6x 4 pin peripheral

- 2x floppy
